Subaru IRONMAN Canada

Based on Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) approved guidelines. Refer to NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide available at https://fcr-ccc.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/en for more information. Full battery charge and ideal conditions are required. Figures will vary based, amongst others and non-exclusively, on driving and charging habits, speed, accessory use, weather and temperature, battery age, vehicle condition, road condition and other factors. In sub ideal conditions, figures may worsen by more than 50%. Battery capacity decreases with time and use which will further reduce range. See the owner’s manual or NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide for details.

Subaru IRONMAN Canadian Series

The first IRONMAN competition, held in Hawaii in 1978, immediately established this as one of the most challenging athletic endeavours in the world. Comprised of a swimming, cycling and running race, IRONMAN is certainly the ultimate test of physical strength and endurance, but it’s also a test of mental strength and perseverance.

Since the mid-90s, the premiere triathlon competition in this country has been Subaru IRONMAN Canada. A top triathlete must possess the versatility to excel in a variety of environments and the resilience to outlast the competition — the same is true of a world-class vehicle. This is why Subaru Canada is a proud supporter of this competition and of the athletes who push themselves to the limit.

Subaru Canada is proud to support active, healthy lifestyles. To show our support, we are offering a $750 cash-back athlete rebate on the purchase or lease of a new Subaru vehicle from an authorized Canadian dealer. Please click the button for more information.

IRONMAN

Building on the legacy of the original, Subaru IRONMAN competitions are full IRONMAN events consisting of a 3.8-km swim, 180-km bike race and 42.2-km run. There are few physical or mental challenges to match the classic IRONMAN. Preparation for a full IRONMAN can take years; it can take even longer to become a top competitor; finishing an IRONMAN is a massive accomplishment in and of itself.

The series is currently made up of two spectacular events. The Legend Returns when Subaru IRONMAN Canada goes back to its roots in beautiful and iconic Penticton in 2022. Penticton is a triathlon mecca and has drawn an amazing caliber of athletes for 30 years. Mont-Tremblant, Quebec is home to one of the most decorated IRONMAN races in the world, Subaru IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant. Not only does this picturesque mountain town race win awards for the best venue, but its course is one that any IRONMAN would tell you is an absolute must-do.

IRONMAN 70.3

The IRONMAN 70.3 is effectively half a full IRONMAN event, but this competition still requires high levels of determination, discipline and resilience. The event consists of a 1.9-km swim, 90-km bike ride and 21.1-km run. There are three Subaru IRONMAN 70.3 races on the calendar and each one is a favourite with competitors and spectators alike.

Subaru IRONMAN 70.3 Victoria, presented by Jim Pattison Subaru of Victoria, takes place in one of Canada’s most beautiful cities and is a tremendously popular event. Subaru IRONMAN 70.3 Mont Tremblant has quickly become a favourite for its beautiful surroundings and abundance of family-friendly activities. Subaru IRONMAN 70.3 Muskoka, presented by Subaru of Muskoka, sees competitors swim pristine Peninsula Lake before riding around the Lake of Bays, and running past cascading waterfalls and pink granite rock.

IRONMAN 5150

The IRONMAN 5150 is the Olympic distance triathlon event, comprised of a 1.5-km swim, 40-km bike ride and 10-km run. While these distances fall short of the original IRONMAN standards, the effort required to be competitive is just as significant.

The Subaru Mont Tremblant Triathlon follows the same format, but takes place in the beautiful Laurentian Mountains in Quebec. The race begins at the Mont Tremblant Beach and Tennis Club with the swim course in Lac Tremblant. This is followed by the bike portion along the newly paved course that leads towards Lac Supérieur and then a run back in the direction of Lac Tremblant.
