Based on Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) approved guidelines. Refer to NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide available at https://fcr-ccc.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/en for more information. Full battery charge and ideal conditions are required. Figures will vary based, amongst others and non-exclusively, on driving and charging habits, speed, accessory use, weather and temperature, battery age, vehicle condition, road condition and other factors. In sub ideal conditions, figures may worsen by more than 50%. Battery capacity decreases with time and use which will further reduce range. Subaru Canada Sets All-Time Monthly Sales Record in May
3 June, 2019

  • Best month ever for the brand, with sales up 6.6 per cent compared to the same month last year with 5,875 units sold in May.

  • May was the best month on record for Quebec, with a 13.3 per cent sales increase compared to the same month last year.

  • Impreza, Forester and Outback all outpaced the previous May on the way to a new monthly sales record.

(MISSISSAUGA, ONT.)—Subaru sales kicked into high gear in May, with the brand setting an all-time monthly sales record with 5,875 units sold.

The sales total, a 6.6 per cent increase compared to the same month last year, represents the best month ever for Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) as the brand’s strong sales momentum continues.

“I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished as more Canadians make the switch to Subaru products,” said SCI president, chairman and CEO Yasushi Enami. “Our combination of world-class safety, performance, reliability and versatility is being recognized by more and more Canadians, and we continue to work with our dealer partners to provide an outstanding customer experience.”

It was a strong showing once again for Subaru’s sport utility range, with the Forester and Outback both outpacing the previous May by 10.8 per cent and 5.8 per cent, respectively, while the city-sized Crosstrek and family-sized Ascent contributed admirably and continue to sell well in their ultra-competitive segments.

On the car side of the showroom, the Impreza compact also set a sales record in May, besting the same month last year by 3.4 per cent, while the midsize Legacy was barely off the sales pace of last year, missing the mark by just one per cent.

Regionally, Western Canada, Ontario and Quebec all performed well, with the latter posting its best month ever. Sales in the west were up 6.2 per cent compared to the same month last year, while sales in Ontario spiked 4.5 per cent and sales in Quebec climbed 13.3 per cent over last May.

The strong showing in May results in year-to-date sales of 22,087, just two per cent off last year’s sales pace when it set its seventh annual sales record.
