Based on Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) approved guidelines. Refer to NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide available at https://fcr-ccc.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/en for more information. Full battery charge and ideal conditions are required. Figures will vary based, amongst others and non-exclusively, on driving and charging habits, speed, accessory use, weather and temperature, battery age, vehicle condition, road condition and other factors. In sub ideal conditions, figures may worsen by more than 50%. Battery capacity decreases with time and use which will further reduce range. See the owner’s manual or NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide for details.

World-class engineering, class-leading reliability and durability

Uncommonly popular and uncommonly engaging, the latest version of the Subaru Forester takes things to bold, new heights. Built on a strengthened version of the Subaru Global Platform, the all-new Forester delivers new levels of strength, safety and stability. The efficient and responsive SUBARU BOXER® engine is linked to an equally capable and smooth Lineartronic® CVT. The standard Subaru Symmetrical Full-Time AWD system and X-MODE® with Hill Descent Control work together to deliver predictable, sure-footed handling and control—even in the most challenging road and weather conditions. The Forester Sport brings even more driver engagement to the situation with its sporty suspension system. To cap it all off, the Forester is an exceedingly nimble compact SUV that nevertheless offers a smooth, composed and quiet ride.

The epic SUBARU BOXER® engine

The naturally aspirated 2.5L SUBARU BOXER® 4-cylinder that powers the all-new Forester is lighter than the previous engine and incorporates direct injection for superior horsepower, torque, driveability and fuel efficiency. All trim levels are equipped with the SI-DRIVE® engine management system, which features the eco-friendly Intelligent (I) mode. Certain trim levels also feature the Sport (S) mode, while the Sport trim has exclusive access to the more performance-oriented Sport Sharp (S#) mode. The combination of the legendary SUBARU BOXER® engine and the advanced SI-DRIVE® engine management system help drivers extract maximum performance, efficiency and sheer entertainment while behind the wheel.

Lineartronic® CVT + Symmetrical Full-Time AWD

All versions of the 2025 Forester come equipped with the Lineartronic® CVT , a technologically advanced transmission that helps generate maximum efficiency at all times and superior response when needed most. The critical link between the SUBARU BOXER® engine and the Subaru Symmetrical Full-Time AWD system, this CVT delivers predictable power delivery in all conditions, allowing the AWD system to shift engine torque to the wheels with grip under hard acceleration or in low-traction conditions. Certain trim levels feature available paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel and a manual shift mode, creating even more driver engagement and heightened response.

The dynamic, surefooted X-MODE® system

There are two different versions of the advanced X-MODE® system available on the all-new Forester. On the standard version, the operation of both the VDC and X-MODE® system is controlled through the central touchscreen, allowing you to tackle steep and slick hills with uncommon confidence. On the available dual-function version of X-MODE®, you can select between two settings tailored to specific driving conditions—namely, snow/dirt and deep snow/mud. Available on the Sport trim level and above, the dual-function X-MODE® system provides an even greater level of control in challenging driving conditions, terrain and weather.

Gravity-defying Hill Descent Control

Both the standard and dual-function version of X-MODE® incorporate the Hill Descent Control system. This system allows the driver to select a given speed and then automatically maintains that speed when driving down steep hills. With the system controlling both the speed and the application of the brakes to hold that speed, the driver is free to focus on the road ahead.

Rock-steady Auto Vehicle Hold (AVH)

Standard on all trim levels, the Auto Vehicle Hold (AVH) feature automatically keeps the Forester in place when it’s stopped—for example, at traffic lights. This feature helps to reduce driver fatigue and is designed to keep your vehicle stopped even after you release the brake pedal, especially when stopped on an incline.

A chassis engineered for adventure, durability, capability and comfort

The sixth-generation Forester features a lightweight, super-strong chassis that delivers superior levels of handling, stability, comfort and quietness. The track is wide to create a more stable driving experience, while the suspension system has been refined to deliver increased control and comfort. The all-new Subaru Forester also features a quick steering ratio, a low centre of gravity and high ground clearance, making this compact SUV equally at home on the highway, a winding country road or a cottage trail.

Latest-generation Subaru Global Platform

Introduced some 8 years ago, the Subaru Global Platform (SGP) has been reimagined and strengthened over the years to offer increasingly higher standards of safety. The advanced design and widespread use of high-tensile materials help reduce vibration and resonance felt in the body, floor, seats and steering wheel. This, in turn, creates a quieter and more comfortable ride. The SGP is also engineered to better absorb impact energy coming from all directions, giving the Forester an inner strength that is very uncommon in a compact SUV. These qualities also give the Forester precise steering, superior straight-line stability, and incredibly responsive handling.

Proven front suspension design

The MacPherson® front strut-type suspension system has been tuned to provide superior stability, direct response and clear feedback to the driver. The k-shaped cross members, typically found only on sports cars, help mitigate both vibration and lateral forces. This suspension design works well with the high ground clearance and wide track of the Forester to provide a compelling blend of handling precision and genuine go-anywhere capability. For added performance and sportiness, the Forester Sport utilizes Stablex dampers for a more planted and composed ride.

Precision-minded double-wishbone rear suspension

Expertly balancing sporty handling with sheer refinement, the double-wishbone suspension system can handle rough roads and sharp corners with equal poise. More rigid than before and with a rear stabilizer bar mounted directly to the body of the Forester, this system delivers much less body roll compared to past generations of Forester. For added performance, the Sport trim gets an exclusive sport-tuned suspension with Stablex dampers for a more planted and composed ride.at the back.
