Based on Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) approved guidelines. Refer to NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide available at https://fcr-ccc.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/en for more information. Full battery charge and ideal conditions are required. Figures will vary based, amongst others and non-exclusively, on driving and charging habits, speed, accessory use, weather and temperature, battery age, vehicle condition, road condition and other factors. In sub ideal conditions, figures may worsen by more than 50%. Battery capacity decreases with time and use which will further reduce range. Subaru Canada Sets Seventh Straight Annual Sales Record
3 January, 2019

  • Sales of 58,070 units outpaced previous year by 6.4 per cent for brand’s seventh annual record.

  • Brand also posted best December on record with sales up 3.1 per cent to 3,998 units

  • Redesigned 2019 Forester led way in December with 1,309 units sold for increase of 30 per cent compared to same month previous year.

  • Sales up across Canada in 2018, with all four regions posting improved annual results compared to previous year.

(MISSISSAUGA, ONT.)—Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is proud to announce, for the seventh consecutive year, a new annual sales record as the brand continues to grow entering its fifth decade in Canada.

Strong December sales of 3,998, a record for that month and a 3.1 per cent increase compared to the same month the previous year, resulted in total annual sales of 58,070. That mark easily surpassed the previous annual sales record of 54,570 set in 2017, with sales up 6.4 per cent year-over-year.

“I am thrilled to see our strong sales momentum result in yet another sales record in 2018,” said Yasushi Enami, chairman, president and CEO of SCI. “More and more, Canadians are taking advantage of the world-class safety, performance, reliability, and versatility packed into every one of Subaru’s vehicles.”

Driving the December success for SCI was the redesigned 2019 Forester, which posted its best December ever with 1,309 units sold — a 30 per cent increase over the same month the previous year. Together with the all-new three-row Ascent, city-sized Crosstrek and ever-popular Outback, SCI’s winter-ready SUV lineup represented more than three quarters of its monthly sales.

Those strong December sales also powered SCI to quarterly sales of 14,493 units—a 6.6 per cent increase compared to the same period the previous year and a record fourth quarter for the brand.

Sales were up across Canada for the year in 2018, with Ontario, Quebec, Western and Atlantic regions posting increases of 6.9 per cent, 6.5 per cent, 6.1 per cent and 4.4 per cent, respectively.
